Words of Wisdom for New Teachers

So my mind has started to make the shift toward getting ready to head back to school. I wanted to share a few hopefully meaningful tips for 1st year or new teachers.
Pinterest classrooms and lessons take time to appear. "Do not compare your beginning to someone else's middle or end!"Quote unknown but so true. The longer you are in the class the more time you will improve and change the things you do to make them better!
It took me 10 years of being in the same classroom to find the extra time to make this desk look good.
Be nice to everyone! Especially your janitor & secretary. People think the boss of a school is the principal. This is not true. The secretary and the janitor have all the power. If a child is puking in class you need the secretary to send help via the nurse or herself to get the child to the office. Then you need the janitor to clean it up. Now just remember if you haven't been nice to either or them YOU are now in charge of the mess and the child...Bad news!!
At the end of the day you have to go home. So make sure you leave some time and energy to give to those you love. Being a teacher is a labor of love but make sure you save a little time for yourself and your family.
I am linking up with my friend Lisa over at Pawsitively Teaching!
Go check out all of the awesome new teacher ideas!
