My Favorite Things!!

So my 2 can't leave home without them items are of course my Jamberry nail adhesives! These are perfect for teachers you can theme your nails! We all know a teacher loves a theme! My second is a new discovery. Clinique superbalm lip treatment. Even my 4 year old loves this lip balm.

We just created this and it will become a tradition! We went to the Sugar Plum Fairy ball and then to the Nutcracker Ballet. It was AMAZING! The girls had their faces painted and a picture with the sugar plum fairy. Then we had lunch in the beautifully decorated Union Station. Finally we headed back to Kauffman Hall to see the ballet. The girls LOVED it. So did the mommies!

So truth be told I could honestly eat Steak almost every night. But that isn't actually going to happen. So I have to be friendly with drive thrus! So I have an unhealthy love of Chick Fil a! But the obsession gets worse this time of the year when their Peppermint Chocolate Chip Milk Shake is out. Seriously though have you had one? AMAZING!!!! Go get one NOW!

So for our part of the giveaway we are giving away a Walgreens gift card. Walgreens is my go to run in and run out spot. I never have to park a mile from the door and they never have crazy long lines. At mom's there is a whole shoe and clothing section in her mega Walgreens. December Pick 3

I have 2 super awesome friends Lisa at Pawsitively Teaching and Marissa at Inspired Owl's Corner that are hosting this awesome linky! It is just to give you some ideas of things that you can use in your classroom in December!

So I know I am always trying to find easy and cost effective gifts that my kids can make for their parents. I think the hardest part is I teach kindergarten so finding cute things that they can actually create on their own. This seemed like a doable project and all parents love a picture of their child!

I love using directed drawings with my class! I think it helps them to develop confidence with their own drawings. I try to break things done so they can see that each big drawing is just smaller shapes!

My last pick is definitely more for the kids! It would make a cute non holiday bulletin board also. Not to mention with Olaf the snowman popularity is through the roof!
Hope you are able to use something from here or hope over and check out someone else's post!

Make sure you enter to win this awesome Jamberry holiday gift set! Just hop over and like my FB page!

Left Overs Friday!

I absolutely love the holidays! Thanksgiving is just such a happy start to the holidays. Unfortunately neither the hubby or I have family close by. So some years we opt to go watch football (Let's go Hawks) But this year we decided to stay home and host. So we have friends that are coming over! Which I know will be tons of fun. My friend Dixie is bringing red velvet cake! Which is my fav!!!

So for this weekend I will be eating WAY to much and shopping WAY too much and then like all teachers working to figure out what we are doing in my classroom for December!

I will also be creating this little left over!! One of my besties sells Tastefully Simple and I love it! So I will be using my left over turkey with this potato cheese soup!

My wonderful friend Missy over at Dirt Road Teacher organized this linky and giveaway! So you can plan for December with items that are on sale for only one day(Black Friday) and get a chance to win some moola(Visa) to finish your shopping!!
So here are a few of the items that are on sale for half off in my store today that I will be using soon and hope you can use too!

Make sure you enter the giveaway!! Also if you have any great items you are using for the next few weeks link up!!

Back to School

My little one headed off to kindergarten this week! She was so excited and so ready! I am so happy for her. Sending these little people off unto the world is filled with mixed emotions. But so far she is LOVING school!

Our school district has what they call a staggered start. This is amazing especially from the teacher perspective! Each teacher only has 6 kindergartners per day for the first 3 days then they all return on the 4th day! What a great time to build community and make them feel comfortable! So on day 2 we headed to the beach!!

Now that my little lady is at school all day it has given me time to finally really work again! So you can grab this Olympic color packet for just $1!! There are color by sight word and color my number pages!

I also got a chance to spruce up our Close Reading on Labor Day. It includes a color passage to project for the class, student passages to make notes on, alphabetical order page with vocabulary from the passage, vocabulary cards with pictures, writing paper, and a label the dates on the month page!

And finally this is my little lady preparing us a snack! She said mommy I just want to spend time with you! Melt my heart! So we played all night in her play room!

So overall a pretty good week! I would like to get some honest reviews on my Close Read! So if you have looked at all my pictures, leave me a comment & your email and I will randomly pick 5 people this weekend to send my close read to!!!

Holidays Around the Blog: Hanukkah

So the super awesome Mrs. Labrasciano put together this awesome linky for us to all share about what we do to celebrate the holidays! One of the best things we do in my class is share about Hanukkah! We have centers, read about it, and make latkes!
 Home made Dreidel
Dreidel with a Pencil
We use a pencil with a copied paper to make pencil dreidels.
 Edible Dreidels
Edible Dreidel
These are a few of my step dad's Jewish items. It helps to explain to the kids if you have the real pieces. We also make edible Dreidels out of pretzel sticks, marshmallow, and a hershey kiss!

We make latkes in class
This is the latke recipe that I use. It uses frozen hasbrowns which makes it so much quicker than grating potatoes!

Hash browns, eggs, flour, salt & pepper
I let the kids help with the measuring a mixing!

I use my griddle to cook them in a little oil.
I get the griddle nice and hot, then with a little oil I cook the latkes!

We eat them with sour cream & applesauce
Then I serve the latkes with applesauce & sour cream.

Sentence order & recording center
I like all of my centers to match the theme we are working on. So this is the sentence ordering center. It also has an accountability sheet! So they get practice matching the words up then writing the sentence!

Make sure you go check out everyone's holiday celebrations! Also link up your holiday celebrations!
